The K+S Group is one of the world's leading suppliers of standard and speciality fertilizers. In the salt business, measured by production capacity, K+S, with sites in Europe as well as North and South America, is the world's leading producer.Our business segment Potash and Magnesium Products extracts potash and magnesium crude salts in six mines in Germany for an annual production output of up to7.5 million tonnes. To expand our potash capacities, we are developping a new potash production based on solution mining in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, which should supply its first products at the end of 2015. The Salt business segment comprises the European producer esco-european salt company, the South American supplier Sociedad Punta de Lobos, and Morton Salt with production sites in the USA and in Canada. With a production capacity of approximately 30 million tonnes of salt, K+S is the world's leading producer.Following our vision and mission, the strategy of the K+S Group provides for growth, particularly in the Potash and Magnesium Products as well as Salt business segments. In future too, the sector of raw materials and of materials similar to raw materials is to form the basis of our growth. In line with this strategy, we are focusing our management resources and financial means on these areas, and we sold our nitrogen business operations: In 2011, we sold COMPO to the private equity investor Triton, and in 2012, K+S Nitrogen to EuroChem.K+S offers a comprehensive range of goods and services for agriculture, industry and private consumers which provides growth opportunities in virtually every sphere of daily life. The K+S Group employs more than 14,000 people and achieved revenues of about 5.2 billion Euro in 2011. The K+S share-the only commodities stock on the German DAX index-is listed on all German stock exchanges.
